Welcome to the 2020–21 school year at Heard County High School. I am humbled and honored to be serving alongside our faculty and staff that lives by our motto of “Putting Kids First”. We strive each and every day as we work together as a community to prepare our students for the 3 E’s: Employment, Enlistment, and Enrollment. Our teachers set high standards for our students so that they will be successful no matter what path they choose. Students have an opportunity to be involved in a variety of athletics and extracurricular activities where our faculty and staff continue to push students to excel. We look forward to continuing our partnership with parents and members of the community as we work to provide our students with the best opportunities to succeed not only in high school, but in their future endeavors. I am honored to be serving the Heard County community as Principal of Heard County High School for the upcoming school year.

I am a 1999 graduate of Duluth High School in Gwinnett County. I attended the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics in 2004 and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education in 2007. I completed my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership in 2011 while attending Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. I began my teaching career in 2005 at Callaway High School in Troup County where I taught all levels of mathematics and coached football and wrestling. I transitioned to the Heard County School System in 2015 and had the privilege of serving as the Assistant Principal at the middle school and later at the high school. My wife Ginger and I have been married for 10 years and have four children: Tripp (8), Paisley (6), Jud (3), and Owen (2).
