Superintendent Search Announcement

Heard County is located in west-central part of Georgia bordering Alabama.

Heard County, Georgia is a close-knit, rural community centered around the city of

Franklin. It features a small public school system deeply integrated into local life,

emphasizing strong community pride, strong local support for education, and a traditional

small-town atmosphere. Superintendent Mike Roberts has effectively led the district for

several years and plans to retire.

The district has over 2200 students who are served by one high school, one middle

school, three elementary schools, and an alternative school. The goal of the district is to

provide the best education for their students in order for them to have as many options

available to them as possible upon graduation. The community and staff believe in

preparing their students for life!
