Marianne Cole


Dr. Marianne Cole is a life long resident of Heard County. She graduated from Heard County High School in 1991. After highschool Marianne attended West Georgia College and majored in Early Childhood Education graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in 1995. Later that year, she began teaching at Heard Elementary. Over the years Marianne taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade and completed a Masters of Education Degree in Educational Administration from State University of West Georgia in 2000. In 2002 she moved to the Central Office as Assistant Superintendent. While working to support students, teachers and administrators she attended school and finished a Educational Specialist Degree in 2005 from University of West Georgia and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership in 2010 from Liberty University.

Dr. Cole believes in putting students first and enjoys her work in teaching and learning to support all five schools in Heard County. When not working in her office you can find Dr. Cole visiting classrooms or extracurricular activities throughout the school system. She was a member of the Heard High Marching Braves and since childhood has enjoyed attending football and basketball games and cheering for the Heard County Braves!

Marianne lives in Centralhatchee with her husband Jimmy and their 3 children, Ben Cole (HHS Class of 2012 and UWG sophomore), Christina Cole (HHS Class of 2013 and WGTC Freshmen this Winter) and Harrison Cole (HHS Sophomore-- Class of 2016). Her favorite pastimes include Reading and Camping and #1 on her bucket list is to visit Alaska and see the Aurora Borealis.
